Teflon® FEP Coating Overview
Teflon® FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) coatings are a two-coat system and were made to melt and flow while the baking process occurs, which makes for a non-porous film. They have excellent abrasion and chemical resistance, as well as nonstick and low friction properties.
- Coating system is primer/topcoat
- Superior nonstick/low friction properties
- Superior chemical/corrosion resistance
- Excellent abrasion resistance
- Cures at 650°F
This coating system is best used for nonstick properties as in mold release. It can withstand temperatures up 450°F and its thickness is usually 1-3 mils.
